The system features a dual path power architecture that increases charge efficiency, resulting in a potential run-time of more than 12 hours.

Key features of the DC Power System include:
- Sealed Lead Acid (SLA) battery that is recyclable, commonly available and costs less than $200
- Lightweight design that weighs 16 percent less than a comparable AC Power System
- “Run-time remaining” gauge that gives users an accurate timeframe for using the cart
“Some systems run on a Nickel Metal Hydride battery (NiMH), which can cost up to $1,000 to replace. By utilizing a SLA battery, we’ve significantly reduced the cost of purchasing replacements,” added Chochinov.
